Impact Martial Arts proudly serving Kilsyth since 2016

 Renshi David has been training for over 30 years, since 1985. Commencing his training with Golden Cobra in Olinda he developed a love of martial arts. The challenge of gradings and competition was something that he greatly enjoyed and excelled at. The friendship and camaraderie developed between fellow students and competitors was a major highlight in the early years. 

At the age of 11, he was the youngest and first Mascot Black Belt in the schools history. Renshi’s competition focus continued and he started to travel and test himself at a National level, where he continued to be successful, and be recognised across multiple competition organisations.

In the following years it was the realisation of the intangible benefits and lessons that over 10 years of training had provided him and prepared him for. The ability and benefit of being able to apply lessons learnt through martial arts to everyday life to be able to navigate situations and confront life challenges was a major factor in the reason for him to commence helping teach fellow students.

The love of teaching and contributing to fellow students benefiting and developing personally and physically from the lessons of martial arts was something that Renshi David took great pride in and that fuelled the ambition to teaching martial arts full time and running his own school. 

At the age of 18, Renshi was invited to become a part owner of Golden Cobra, where he continued to develop himself as an instructor and commence learning the business of running a martial arts school. 

After 6 years of helping many student realise the Black Belt and competition goals while gaining valuable experience of running a school at the age of 24, Renshi David was given the opportunity to commence running his own school while still teaching the same style of Kobura-Do he had grown up training in.

Since commencing running his own school Renshi David has dedicated himself to the personal development and of students of all ages through martial arts. His love of martial arts and the positive impact it has on a persons life is as true and strong as it was in the 5 year old kid all those years ago.

Renshi David’s dedication to martial arts has also afforded him the opportunity to share his knowledge with others, while also training and competing nationally and representing Australia internationally. Renshi has been Victorian State Director of NAS, ISKA Tournament promoter, and is International ranked and certified in Bang Many Thai under Duane Ludwig and Carlos Machado Ju Jitsu.
